Following up from my last post, today’s Top Follow Friday today goes to Micah Baldwin, the creator and individual who coined the term #followfriday.
Micah doesn’t even know who I am. And yet it doesn’t matter.
He’s my Top Follow Friday for the following reasons:
-
- “Visionary” with Power. Clearly Micah had a vision and then some “power” that made people gravitate towards this idea of a #followfriday. According to Mashable, on January 16, 2009 (at 9:53am), Micah tweeted, “I am starting Follow Fridays. Every Friday, suggest a person to follow, and everyone follow him/her. Today it’s @fancyjeffrey and @w1redone.” Powerful. The rest is history. (Side Note: I believe that @fancyjeffrey is now @jeffrey and @w1redone is now @dannynewman.)
-
- Zero Patience. (Anyways, I think that’s what he meant when on his Twitter Bio he said, “patient zero.”) I can relate. Have you seen my Twitter Bio lately? I give myself all of F- in patience. And I believe that many times, people with a lack of patience are out there moving, shaking and getting as much done in as little time as possible. This can be a great trait!
-
- Clever. I appreciate the verbiage Micah uses. Take for instance this Website, Learn to Duck. Micah says, “Sometimes the best way to Learn to Duck is to get punched in the face.” Now that’s clever. And funny.
-
- Success through Failure. In his “Official Bio” it states, “you can read about Micah’s philosophy of success through failure here on this blog.” I love those 3 words: Success through Failure. They show commitment, effort and persistence. And that philosophy is, quite honestly, enough for me to make him my Top Follow Friday!
