Mentioned

I utilize TweetDeck to manage all my Twitter and Facebook action. It’s a wonderful personal browser that keeps me on top of my “Social Game,” if we accept the idea that I have “Social Game” at all.

Sometimes I have a Tweet that people find useful or interesting. And sometimes I have many Tweets that people find useful or interesting. But no matter what, should someone find me valuable, they will retweet my thought. When this happens, I hear a little bird chirp and I see a little, black box in the upper right hand corner of my computer screen that says, “1 Mention” or “2 Mentions” or “5 Mentions.”

And then one day when I was apparently saying nothing amusing and/or useful, I saw nothing for Mentions in that little black box. I wondered about this. How had, over time, I become so accustomed to – so dependent upon – that one, simple word – Mention?

Psychology of Recognition. That’s what it was. Everyone wants to be recognized. Everyone likes to be called by first name. People want to see their name. They want to hear their name. They want to know that what they are providing is useful and beneficial. Everyone wants to be known for something and then re-known for it over and over again. They want to have a purpose in things they create and products they develop.

Everyone wants their mention, that Digital Mention. Through my own Social Media, Advertising, PR and Marketing utters, I hope to provide just that.

And who knows? Perhaps you’ll find them worth your own Digital Mention and share with your own, fabulous networks!

Digital Mention by she

I have been anxiously awaiting the launch of this Website/Blogging Platform! I have worked long and hard on it. And in the end decided to keep it as simple as possible for the time being. (Okay, let’s be honest – mostly because I’m not a Website Designer by any means….)! But like the first house you ever own, it doesn’t matter because it’s yours. This Website is all mine!

For the past year (almost one year to be exact) I have created, implemented and maintained my personal blog, Confessions, Truths & the Journey of a Passionate yet (Mis)Fortunate Fitness-Nutrition Junkie. I have enjoyed every single moment of it!

But as life has evolved for me so much in this past year professionally, I decided it was time to launch my own Website, tack a name associated with it and make it my own! (In my next post, I explain this term “Mention,” as that word was the starting point for my idea and name, “Digital Mention by she.”)

I once went to a seminar called, “Get Famous,” presented by Dennis Erokan of the placemaking Group. I will never forget his overall “theme” for the day. Mr. Erokan explained the concept that, “getting famous isn’t just for rock stars, movie stars or other figures.” He noted that you can be “famous” in whatever you do and within whatever industry you are in.

Fast forward about 1.5 years later. My fascination with the concept and with social media made for the perfect marriage. Enter: “Digital Mention by she.” You can read all about Digital Mention by she, what it is, who I am and what it aims to do via the About Page.

I could not be more excited for Digital Mention by she! Not only am I looking to take myself, my clients and my (future) clients from Point A to Point “Fame”, but I am also looking to do so with a ton of class, a little sass, a rock star attitude and passion that you can’t afford not to be a part of!
